The Media Center

The BookWormWelcome to the Media Center! I fell into creating fanmixes over the years. The first ones were story soundtracks from the Biker Mice From Mars stories that had songs quoted in the narrative. Then certain songs reflected on chracters and their arcs for series, so some series have the same soundtrack. Then I got involved in creating new soundtracks for contests in the Tin Man fandom. When I created a more movie accurate score-soundtrack for the Megamind fandom, I decided I needed to have a section in the Library so the fanmixes are easier to find.

Wars Are Won: Shatter Your Illusions Coundtrack Front Cover

The Short versions of certain songs: Originally, I only wanted to provide the songs actually quoted in the narrative. So I cut snips of those lyrics and put a player in the story for the reader to chose to listen to it or not. That worked up until I quoted a whole song and then provided the whole song in a player. My website host told me to knock that off so I made fanmix soundtracks. And since I had these short files already made, they got put in the fanmixes too.

Song List:

  1. "Biker Mice From Mars" by Jeff Scott Soto Cartoon Theme
  2. “Remember the Heroes” by Sammy Hagar Wars Are Won By Those Who Dare Theme
  3. “No More Tears” by Ozzy Osbourne - Turbo is not a happy character and he is not up to happy things. Ozzy channels that.
  4. “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” by Meat Loaf Mentioned in the story
  5. “Obsession is Such an Ugly Word” by Alesana Turbo’s Theme - this band makes some of the strangest punk rock I have ever heard (not that I’m very knowledgeable in that genre), but the lyrics and the angry guitar chords make this Turbo’s theme.
  6. “Nothing Can Come Between Us” by Sade - Charley’s theme in this story. Character’s theme songs do change, namely because I keep finding new songs that apply to them. There will probably be more songs from Sade in the future, cause DAMN she has great love songs!
  7. “Wayward Son” by Kansas - a song that screamed Throttle. The first series was so influenced by 70s and 80s classic rock songs, you are required to go to that era for influence music.
  8. “Children of the Sun” by Billy Thorpe - intrigued by the title, I downloaded and it went to BMFM inspirations.
  9. “Jump” by Van Halen Mentioned in the story - What's really sad is how many of the Billboard number ones I know well enough to sing them just by seeing the title listed and how few of them are actually songs the fuzzy boys would listen to on purpose.
  10. “This is the Part Where People Scream” by Alesana - the lyrics make it a perfect taunt for Turbo to throw at Throttle.
  11. “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath Throttle and Turbo's fight music
  12. “Children of the Grave” by Black Sabbath - Throttle's Flashbackmore fighting music, though I added it for historic detail. I had just bought their Greatest Hits album to get a copy of “Iron Man.”
  13. “Leather and Lace” by Don Henley and Stevie Nicks Throttle and Charley’s Theme - I knew this song was their love song and would be quoted in Turbo the first time I heard it.
  14. “Leader of Men” by Nickelback Throttle’s Theme - One of the first songs I picked for BMFM inspiration too, and it has always reminded me of Throttle.

Actually, this was the first completed fanmix in 2009. It turned out to be mostly character inspiration songs that fit for the whole series.
